Department Youth Services

The Detention Center was created to meet the needs of the youth whose needs cannot be met in a non-secure facility. The Detention Center is a temporary, secure facility which currently has the capabilities of dealing with up to 21 youth, males and females, ranging in age of 10 to their 18th birthday.

County Juvenile Detention Center is a regional facility covering 23 counties in the central and south-central regions of the State of Kansas. Those counties include:

The current contracted daily rate for placement of youth in the juvenile detention facility is $150. If any county would like to have a contract for juvenile detention facility services, they may email Joe Hammeke.
