Fee Coverage
The Department for Children and Families beginning September 2021 will cover 100% of the costs for applications and background check fees for approximately two years. Please note, the fees are not waived but covered though funds from Child Care & Development Block Grant supplemental funds allocated by American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021. After the period has expired, the facility will be responsible again for all fees.
- What does this mean?
- All Initial, Renewal and SAP Amendment fees will be covered for the applicant.
- All comprehensive background checks fees will be covered for new applicants and new affiliates added.
- This information has been updated in the Provider Portal and will go into production for new applicants and renewals beginning 9/1/2021.

There is a new regulation deadline of November 1, 2024.

Childcare Provider Orientation Class
The first Tuesday of every month, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Reno County Health Department.
Child Care Providers,
With the implementation of our new regulations, we understand many of you are eager to obtain a new regulation book. To request a regulation book pertaining to your program type, please complete this form.
A few helpful reminders:
- At the beginning of each month we will submit orders for regulations books to our printing department for all orders from the previous month.
- It may take several weeks for your regulation book to be delivered.
- Only requests for Child Care Centers/Preschools and Family Child Care Homes are being accepted at this time.
- Only one regulation book per facility will be provided.
- All regulations books are available on our website for ease of access and self-printing.
