Build Me UP! Coaching Program available now for Reno County Child Care Providers
Dear Childcare Providers of Reno County 📣
Are you looking to enhance the quality of your childcare program while receiving free coaching and professional development? The Build Me Up! Coaching Program, funded through the Early Childhood Block Grant (ECBG), is now open for new participants!
This program supports you and your staff in building strong, nurturing relationships with children and families, while helping children thrive in cognitive, social-emotional, literacy, and early math development.
💡 What You’ll Gain from Coaching:
- Monthly onsite coaching visits with tailored strategies and real-time classroom support
- Professional development focused on best practices and Kansas Early Learning Standards (KELS)
- Tools and guidance to enhance your classroom environment and improve child outcomes
- Support in gathering child and family input to help guide learning
🎯 Areas of Support for Teachers:
Cognitive & Physical Development
- Problem-solving, fine/gross motor skills, and personal-social growth
Social-Emotional Skills
- Self-regulation, autonomy, social communication, and interaction with others
Literacy Development (by age group):
- Infants: Gestures, vocalizations, early word use
- 3-Year-Olds: Alphabet knowledge, oral language, robot blend
- PreK: Rhyming, sound ID, expressive language, and letter recognition
Math Readiness
- Oral counting, quantity comparison, number fluency, and one-to-one correspondence
CLASS Observations (Fall & Spring):
- Targeted feedback based on age group (Infant, Toddler, or PreK) on key teacher-child interaction areas such as:
- Positive Climate, Behavior Guidance, Language Modeling, and Concept Development

The first Tuesday of every month, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Reno County Health Department.

Child Care Providers,
With the implementation of our new regulations, we understand many of you are eager to obtain a new regulation book. To request a regulation book pertaining to your program type, please complete this form.
A few helpful reminders:
- At the beginning of each month we will submit orders for regulations books to our printing department for all orders from the previous month.
- It may take several weeks for your regulation book to be delivered.
- Only requests for Child Care Centers/Preschools and Family Child Care Homes are being accepted at this time.
- Only one regulation book per facility will be provided.
- All regulations books are available on our website for ease of access and self-printing.
