Each year Reno County has a few cases of tickborne illnesses, such as Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, ehrlichiosis, and tularemia. Symptoms generally include fever/chills, aches/pains, rashes, and can be fatal if not treated properly. Protect yourself from tick bites by being AWARE, making sure to wear long pants and sleeves and applying EPA-approved tick repellent when outdoors.
