Hutchinson Community College's women's head basketball coach John Ontjes and two players, Madi Denison and Akaysha Muggeridge, joined Sen. Roger Marshall at the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce’s First Friday Coffee event on Friday, April 5, 2024, sponsored by the Advanced Physical Therapy center, 2803 N Lorraine St # F, in Hutchinson. 

Sen. Marshall  took a few moments to talk about Hutchinson and how when he talks to people about this town, he says that it is filled with a lot of hard-working people. He also spoke about his top priorities and the affect that federal government regulations have on businesses. 

Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team members Madi Denison and Akaysha Muggeridge also spoke to the group about the team's NJCAA Div. I National Women's Basketball Championship game. They also wanted to remind people to come to the national championship celebration at the Hutchinson Sports Arena on Tuesday evening, April 9, 2024, at 6 p.m. There will be speeches, photo opportunities and autographs with the coaches and players.
