Special visitor to the Reno County Annex on Friday!

Last Friday was anything but ordinary at the Reno County Annex… because we had a very special visitor — an 8-month-old baby kangaroo! 😍

Richele Calvert, Reno County Treasurer, said that Joe Hedrick stopped by our office to get tags and, as always, we couldn’t help but ask about their adorable animals at the Hedrick Exotic Animal Farm in Nickerson. To our delight, he told us they’d bring a baby kangaroo by — and from that moment on, the excitement was real. We were all counting down the minutes until "Roo Time!"

Meet Nevaeh (or Nevaya!) — the sweetest little joey who completely stole our hearts. She arrived in the cutest baby sling (aka kangaroo pouch!) and made everyone’s day with snuggles, hops, and those giant curious eyes. 💕

This unexpected visit was truly a highlight of our month — the best morale booster ever. A huge thank you to Hedrick’s for sharing her joy and magic with us.
