Reno County Thanks Don Brittain for Nearly 16 Years of Dedicated Service

Reno County employees, community partners, family members, and friends gathered on June 12 to celebrate the career and upcoming retirement of Public Works Director Don Brittain.
Brittain will retire effective June 19, 2026, after nearly 16 years of service to Reno County. During that time, he provided steady leadership to the Public Works Department and played an important role in maintaining and improving the county's infrastructure.
Under Brittain's leadership, Reno County completed numerous road, bridge, and transportation projects that enhanced safety and mobility for residents. He was also instrumental in securing millions of dollars in grant funding, helping the county complete critical infrastructure improvements while reducing costs to local taxpayers.

Colleagues praised Brittain for his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public service throughout his tenure with Reno County. During the retirement reception held in the Veterans Room at the Reno County Courthouse, attendees shared stories and memories while recognizing the positive impact he has had on both the organization and the community. The Reno County Sheriff's Office presented a plaque to the Reno County Public Works Department for their partnership and support in allowing employees to utilize equipment to help build parts of the new Reno County Training Complex.
Don's leadership and commitment to Reno County have made a lasting difference and we are grateful for his years of service and the legacy he leaves behind.
Reno County extends its sincere appreciation to Don Brittain for his many contributions and wishes him a rewarding and enjoyable retirement.
