Reno County SWAT hosted training for patrol officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel in responding to an Active Shooter Event
Last week members of Reno County SWAT hosted training for patrol officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel in responding to an Active Shooter Event. The training was held at Hutchinson High School over a four-day period. Each attendee was able to attend an 8-hour training session on a day of their choice. Training included classroom instruction, small group practical training and large group scenario training. Reno County SWAT hosts this training annually and different buildings throughout Reno County. Attendees for this year were from the Hutchinson Police Department, Reno County Sheriff’s Office, South Hutchinson Police Department, Haven Police Department, Buhler Police Department, Harvey County Sheriff’s Office, Hutchinson Fire Department, and Reno County EMS. Numerous role players also volunteered their time to help make the training as realistic as possible. In all approximately 130 people were able to attend and go through the training this year from all of the above listed agencies.
