Commission met on Wednesday - next meeting on Monday Dec 23rd

The Reno County Commission met Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in the Veterans Room of the courthouse. Their next meeting will be on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 9 am in the Veterans Room of the courthouse. The meeting was changed from their regular Wednesday morning meetings because of the Christmas holiday.

During the commission meeting, two employees were recognized for their dedication and years of service to Reno County. 

Automotive Director Kyle Berg has worked for Reno County for 39 years, starting his career as an automotive technician on August 17, 1985.  Kyle was promoted to Director on November  28, 2005. A public reception will be held for Kyle on Dec. 12, 2024, from 2-4 pm in the Veterans Room of the courthouse.

Facilities Director Harlen Depew is retiring from Reno County after 19 years of service. Harlen was hired as the Maintenance Director on Nov. 7, 2005. Harlen has assisted and overseen many capital projects including the building of the new Reno County Correctional Facility, the remodeling of the Annex and the courthouse, new courthouse windows and HVAC units, replacement of HVAC units in other buildings, multiple roofing projects, tuckpointing and weatherization projects. A public reception will be held for Harlen on Dec. 12, 2024, from 2-4 pm in the Veterans Room of the courthouse.
