Reno County Commission meeting features Landfill and Sheriff's Office Annual Reports, study session on Gas Rights Agreements
Reno County Commission Meeting Summary – May 14, 2025
The Reno County Commission held its regular meeting on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, in the Veterans Room at the Reno County Courthouse. Annual Reports
Megan Davidson, Landfill Director, and Sheriff Darrian Campbell presented their annual reports.
In her report, Davidson emphasized that batteries, especially lithium types, can be taken to the Household Hazardous Waste area next to the scalehouse during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Other accepted hazardous items include old paint, cleaners, pesticides, fertilizers, and automotive fluids. For more details, visit the Reno County Recycling Guide.
Administrative Updates
County Administrator Randy Partington shared monthly department updates and discussed scheduling budget study sessions with department heads.
Commissioners were asked to choose between extending their regular June meeting days or meeting every Wednesday in June for the budget study sessions. They will email their preferences to Partington.
Landfill Gas Rights Study Session
After the meeting adjourned, a study session was held to review the Landfill Gas Rights Agreements with Meadowlark Renewables. Participants included:

This session served to answer questions in preparation for an upcoming vote on the agreements.

The next Reno County Commission meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 9 a.m., in the Veterans Room, Reno County Courthouse, 206 W. First Avenue.
