Reno County Planning Commission Hearing
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will commence at 5:30 pm on Monday, July 29, 2024. at the Reno County Public Works Facility located at 600 Scott Boulevard, South Hutchinson, Kansas.
At the above time and place, the Reno County Planning Commission will consider Case Number 2024-10, a request by the Reno County Planning Commission for a series of text amendments to the April 2016 Edition of the Reno County Zoning Regulations. The text amendments consist of the following:
Create Article 15-105(58a) which clarifies that a Solar Energy System (Limited scale commercial) requires a conditional use permit.
Create Article 15-109(1)(L) which establishes zoning regulations for a private solar energy system in the AG – Agricultural District.
Amend Article 15-109(2)(A) to eliminate the term “Solar collectors” from the zoning regulations.
Create Article 15-109(2)(H) which establishes zoning regulations for a private solar energy system in the R-1 – Rural Residential District, R-2 – Suburban Residential District, R-3 – Single Family Residential District, and V-1 – Village District.
Create Article 15-111(8) which prohibits a commercial solar energy system as defined at Article 25-103(5) within the jurisdictional boundary referenced in Article 1-103 of the Reno County Zoning Regulations and defined by Reno County Resolutions 2016-09 and 2020-10.
The text amendments for the proposed regulations are available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Reno County Public Works Facility located at 600 Scott Blvd., South Hutchinson, KS 67505 and can be reviewed below.
All interested parties may appear and be heard at the public hearing listed above. Parties with questions pertaining to the text amendments, or who wish to view the case file, or who may need special assistance may contact the Reno County Public Works Department - Planning & Zoning Division at 620-694-2978. Written comments may be submitted to the address noticed above or by email to [email protected]. The public hearing, once commenced, may be continued by the Planning Commission to a later date and time if deemed necessary.
