Community Collaboration Series: "Parkinson's Unpacked: What's Next and Where to Turn"

Guest speaker Alisha Smith-Hogg, from Gentiva Hospice, spoke about "Parkinson's Unpacked: What's Next and Where to Turn" during the fifth talk in the Community Collaboration Series at the Reno County Department of Aging on May 9, 2025. Smith-Hogg provided a comprehensive overview of Parkinson’s disease, covering its various stages, the experience of living with its symptoms, and ways individuals can improve their quality of life. She also highlighted local support groups and community events available to those affected. The event also featured Jennifer Treaster, BSW, a social worker with Gentiva Hospice, who shared additional valuable insights and resources.

The Community Collaboration Series will be continuing next month at 9:30 a.m., June 27, 2025, at the Dept. of Aging Conference room, 120 W. Avenue B., with guest speaker Nicole Stahl, PTA, Community Liason, who will be bringing a Specialized Homecare Dementia Simulator.
