Kansas State Fair Officially Underway!

Opening day at the Kansas State Fair may have been cooler and rainier than usual, but it didn’t dampen the fun!

A new record was set with a giant pumpkin weighing in at 1,303 pounds, the opening ceremony took place at People’s Bank & Trust Arena with a ribbon cutting for the arena’s new steel canopy, the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile made its grand entrance, and fairgoers broke out raincoats, ponchos, and umbrellas to enjoy the day. Meanwhile, the always-popular Butter Sculpture is taking shape!
