Reno County is the place to be!

The Fly-In and Open House hosted by the Hutchinson Regional Airport was fabulous on Saturday, May 3rd! The weather was beautiful and people of all ages enjoyed the event! There were a variety of attractions including static displays of aircraft, fly-bys, a weather balloon launch, a pancake breakfast fundraiser for the EAA Chapter 88 aviation community, demonstrations, a classic car show, food trucks and kid-friendly activities including free Young Eagle airplane rides!

Bill Garrison's T33 demonstration and water drops from Tanker 95 were awesome!

Bill Garrison gave two water drop demonstrations at Saturday's Community event. Garrison, from Nickerson, contracts with the Kansas Forest Service for firefighting services to battle wildfires. Garrison has helped since 2017 with smaller plans and then Tanker 95 in 2020. The Hutchinson Fire HFD filled the tanker with water before each demonstration. We are fortunate to have Bill Garrison and his air tanker stationed here in Reno County.
