Be Prepared for an Emergency: Fire Extinguisher Training for Employees at the Health Department
🔥 Fire Extinguisher Training at the Reno County Health Department 🔥
Do our Health Department employees know how to use a fire extinguisher in an emergency?
Julie Kallas, our Reno County Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, held a hands-on Fire Extinguisher Training led by Kyle McCue, from Dragon Slayer Fire Extinguisher Service in Newton. The powerful training taught them how to properly and safely operate a fire extinguisher using the PASS technique—Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep.
They also learned:
✅ When to use a fire extinguisher
✅ How to use it effectively and safely
✅ Quick action tips in case of fire
✅ A live demo and the chance to practice yourself!
Employees were able to put out a fire purposely set in the Health Department parking lot. Trainings are held every month at the Health Department with variety of health and safety topics.
