Did you know that batteries—especially lithium batteries—should NEVER be thrown in the trash? That includes lithium batteries found in vapes/e-cigarettes, which can spark fires and are dangerous in landfills. Lithium batteries are also found in smartphones, laptops, power tools, home appliances such as electric toothbrushes and vacuum cleaners, medical devices and children's toys,

Instead of throwing them away, bring batteries to the Household Hazardous Waste area at the Reno County Landfill—located right next to the scalehouse—Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 4015 West Clark Road.

We also accept: old paint, household cleansers, pesticides & fertilizers, and automotive fluids.

Proper disposal helps protect our environment, workers, and community from harmful chemicals and fire hazards.
