County Cruisers Cross the Finish Line for Alzheimer’s Research!
Reno County's team, the "County Cruisers," with Elise McQuilliam, Savannah Saiz, Sonya Wolfe and Cara Conaway, participated in the Hutchinson Walk to End Alzheimer's on Saturday, Sept. 27th at the Kansas State Fairgrounds.
The walk committee, which Cara serves on, had a goal of $35,000. On Saturday, the walk committee was advised that they had raised $38,247 to go towards Alzheimer's research! There were 244 participants and 45 teams for the 2025 Walk.
In Kansas, more than 54,500 people are living with Alzheimer’s. There are 89,000 caregivers dedicating 125,000,000 hours of unpaid care. All across Central & Western Kansas, the Alzheimer’s Association is here and ready to help. Whether it’s offering support to anyone facing Alzheimer’s, advocating for the needs and rights of those facing dementia, or advancing critical research, we work toward methods of treatment, prevention, and ultimately, a cure.
