Bring a Project to Life: Reno County Special Parks and Recreation Grant Applications Now Open

Reno County is now accepting applications for the Special Parks & Recreation Fund for the upcoming funding cycle.

This program provides financial support for projects that improve access to parks, recreational facilities, environmental education, and wellness opportunities across Reno County. Eligible projects include playground improvements, trail development, recreational programming, sports field upgrades, community gardens, outdoor classrooms, and similar initiatives.
Applicants must complete and submit the official application form to be considered. Deadline is February 27, 2026.
Who may apply:
Eligible applicants include incorporated cities in Reno County (excluding the City of Hutchinson), nonprofit organizations, schools and school districts, community centers and youth organizations, and other qualifying recreation-focused entities.
Application period: January 1 – February 27
Awards announced by: March 31
Grant amounts will vary depending on available funds and the number of eligible applications received.
Funding availability varies each year based on the County’s allocation from the State Local Alcoholic Liquor Fund.
