A retirement reception honoring Cindy Cook's 35 years of public service with Reno County was held Wednesday afternoon, March 19, 2025. Many current co-workers expressed how much she will be missed and how much she has been an important part of Youth Services through her many years working there.

Becky Turley, Reno County Youth Services Supervisor, said, "Cindy has the heart and soul of our detention staff. In the 35 years she has helped train numerous staff, but this is just a tip of the iceberg.  She has also been very instrumental in planning fun and engaging activities for our detention youth. Cindy knew the Behavior Management Program like the back of her hand.  She believed in it and encouraged the youth to utilize this outside of our facility. Cindy, your presence in the building is going to be tremendously missed and felt. Thank you, Cindy, for your outstanding 35 years of service to Reno County Youth Services."
