The Reno County Landfill is now accepting burnt loads or materials starting Monday, April 7, 2025.
ATTENTION:
The Reno County Landfill is open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The landfill is closed on Sundays.
The landfill is CLOSED on these holidays:
New Year's Day
Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Veterans Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION:
Fees increased June 1, 2022.
- The landfill will now charge a fee of $10 per ton for all construction demolition loads from Reno County businesses, with a $10 fee minimum per load. As of June 1, 2023, residents will no longer be charged for construction demolition loads.
- There is a charge of $20 a ton, for construction & demolition loads that have trash or other materials mixed into it that are not accepted in the construction demolition site, with a $20 minimum fee per load.
- Payment with credit or debit card only, cash and checks not accepted.

About the Landfill
Owned by Reno County, the Reno County Landfill is a Regional Solid Waste Sub-Title D landfill serving Harvey, Kingman, McPherson, Rice, Reno, and Stafford Counties. The landfill is operated off of Out of County Tonnage Fees as well as Reno County residents and businesses paying a set fee on their property taxes.
